While the recent elections highlight running for office as a way to participate in local government, they also open another opportunity: joining a city commission or committee. The city of Galt is looking for community members to fill a large number of open seats.

The Public Safety Committee heard an overview of the results of Galt’s Traffic Safety Month at its Nov. 28 meeting before getting updates on community-submitted safety concerns.

The Lady Warriors took on Valley High in their season opener last Tuesday. It was a very close game, but in the end, the Warrior spirit came on strong and the girls were able to come from behind in the last few minutes and get the win 48-44.

Liberty Ranch football announced its All-League recipients last week. Having won the league this year, the Hawks earned the most honorees of all the other teams in the league. Liberty earned nine first team All League, six second team and four honorable mentions.

Wrestling isn’t just for boys anymore. More and more girls are discovering a love of the sport, and six lady wrestlers from Galt High School competed at the Goddess of War tournament at Tokay High School last weekend.
