Fairsite ready to get kids ready to succeed in school
The Fairsite School Readiness Center held a grand opening on Oct. 8. Community members, business leaders, parents and their children were all invited to stop by to see all that the new center has to offer. The center focuses on children from birth to age 5 before they enroll in kindergarten. The center offers preschool, playgroups, parenting classes and much more. The center can assist parents with health screenings for their children and enrollment in state-funded health insurance. The center can also provide resources to private daycare providers and preschools in order to bring all children up to a kindergarten readiness level by age 5. Galt Joint Union Elementary School District employee Donna Whitlock is the director of the school readiness center.
“I appreciate everyone coming out to see what Fairsite has to offer,” said Whitlock. “The grand opening has been a good mix of community members and parents. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for services.”
