Therapy dog training class
Animal Friends Connection will host an orientation for therapy dog training classes, Thursday, March 12 at the Lodi Public Library, 201 W. Locust Street, Lodi, at 6:15-7:30 p.m. No dogs allowed at the orientation. A mandatory temperament test with your dog will take place Saturday or Sunday, March 28-29 from 1-4 p.m. Further information for class dates, times and locations will be addressed at orientation. Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner March 14
The Alta Mesa Gun Club is having its annual corned beef and cabbage dinner at the clubhouse in Wilton on Saturday, March 14. The cost is $20 per person; children 12 and under are $10. Galt Music Showcase March 18
The fifth annual Galt Music Showcase will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at Greer Elementary School from 4:30-5 p.m. for the band concert and 5-6 p.m. for the family dinner, with two food trucks available (Fridgid Frog and Tacos el Socio). A choir concert from 6-7 p.m. will follow
Health fair March 25
The Galt Market will host the March to Good Health fair Wednesday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 pm. at the Galt Market near the office, 905 Meladee Lane. The goal is to provide awareness for the health, safety and social services that are available in the community. The fair includes, free health screenings, health education, fitness tips and demonstrations and nutritional cooking demonstrations.
Coffee with a Cop March 26
Café Latte, 1000 C Street, will host the Galt Police Department for Coffee with a Cop on Thursday, March 26 from 8-10 a.m. Come join your neighbors and police officers for coffee and conversation. There is no agenda or speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.
Lady of Fatima Steak & Oyster Dinner
Our Lady of Fatima Society of Thornton has a Steak & Oyster Dinner planned for Saturday, March 28 at the Stockton Ballroom, 9650 Thornton Road in Stockton.
First seating for cocktails is 3:3 p.m. with dinner at 4:30 p.m. Second seating for cocktails is 6 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 p.m. No outside alcohol or beverages are allowed. A dance will follow at 9 p.m. with The Jay Rolerz Band. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased by calling 209-712-3683 or 209-745-1096.
Dapper Dance March 28
Galt Teen Center will hold a Dapper Dance with a Roaring 20s’ theme on Saturday, March 28 from 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Brewsters Bar & Grill for adults only (costume optional), including a no-host bar, a tri-tip dinner and dancing with DJ Brian King, plus a raffle and silent auction. Tickets are $50 each or sponsor a table for $500 at GaltTeenCenter.org or Facebook Galt Teen Center. Brewsters is donating 15 percent of the bar tab to GTC.
The 11th annual Eggstravaganza will be held Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Fourth Street (between B and E streets) in Galt. This family-friendly event includes games, an egg drop, food, an egg hunt, parade, car show and pie-eating contest.
A pancake breakfast will be hosted by the Galt Youth Commission from 7-10 a.m. in the Estrellita Ballroom on C Street.
The Shop Local Committee and Galt District Chamber of Commerce sponsor this annual event.
Hope 4 Horses dinner
Hope 4 Horses will host a fundraising dinner Saturday, April 4 at the Littleton Community Center from 5:30-9 p.m. The event begins with a no-host bar and includes a silent auction, raffle, dessert auction, barbecue dinner, dancing and music by Stripped By Hippies. Tickets are $40 per person and child tickets are $25. This event is a major fundraiser for the organization that supports the transition of rescued horses, as well as its horsemanship programs and care for the horses. Visit hope4horses.com for tickets.
Kite Day April 5 at McFarland ranch
The Galt Area Historical Society is sponsoring its 18th annual Kite Day at McFarland Living History Ranch on Sunday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (with a possible rain date of April 19). Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site at 8899 Orr Road in Galt.
Spring Break carnival, April 7-8
The Galt Market presents the second annual Spring Break Carnival Tuesday and Wednesday, April 7-8 at the market grounds, 905 Meladee Lane, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy a day, or two, of shopping, food, carnival rides and much more, including an opportunity to snap a photo with the Easter Bunny between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Earth Day celebration April 18
Galt Community of Character Coalition presents Galt Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 18 at the Chabolla Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come celebrate Earth Day’s 50th anniversary with live music, presentations, keynote speakers, exhibits, workshops, vendors, and fun and games. This is a free family event.
Bingo in Wilton
The Wilton History Group monthly Bingo Night fundraiser is the first Saturday of each month. Players must be 18 years of age to play and be at the event. Proceeds from Bingo will be divided between the Wilton History Group and the Wilton Community Center nonprofits.
