Blanket drive at Galt SDA, Nov. 20

Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church and Sacramento Union Gospel Mission will host a blanket drive to help homeless people in the community keep warm. Community members are invited to drop off new or used blankets and sleeping bags that are clean and stain-free at Galt SDA, on Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 619 Myrtle Street.

St. Luke’s 109th Christmas Bazaar, Dec. 3-4

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will host its 109th annual Christmas Bazaar in December. There will be refreshments and a raffle, as well as handmade crafts, baked goods, and Christmas gifts for sale. The bazaar will open on Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Dec. 4 from noon to 2 p.m. A service, which all are welcome to attend, will precede the Dec. 4 hours. See’s Candies Christmas sale Dec. 6-24

Galt Friends of the Library will be selling a Christmas assortment of See’s Candies at the Galt-Marian O. Lawrence Library during regular library hours, Dec. 6-24, for as long as supplies last. Proceeds support special library programs throughout the year.

Live Nativity at Galt Bible Church Dec. 8-10

The Galt Bible Church Live Nativity experience returns as a free community event on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Dec. 8-10.

Visitors may enter any time between 6:30 and 8 p.m. at 801 Church Street to tour Bethlehem the night Christ was born. All are welcome to attend this family-friendly Christmas remembrance.

Parking lot attendants will guide visitors to convenient parking spaces and to the tour entrance.


Senior Holiday Luncheon Dec. 9

Older adults are invited to a Senior Holiday Luncheon on Friday, Dec. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will include the infamous barrel-cooked chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and Spaans Parker House rolls.

The holiday celebration will include a gift drawing and holiday entertainment at the Chabolla Community Center, 660 Chabolla Ave. in Galt. To RSVP, call 209-745-9174. Tickets will be handed out at South County Services, 431 S. Lincoln Way. Reserve your tickets early while supplies last.


National Wreaths Across America Day Dec. 17

The Rio Cosumnes Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution invites the public to honor local heroes at a Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the East Lawn Memorial Park, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove. Gates open at 8:30 a.m., and the ceremony begins at 9 a.m. Community members are invited to sponsor a wreath and help place wreaths at veterans’ grave sites.
