Galt Farm to Fork Dinner

Galt Ag Boosters present the Galt Farm to Fork Dinner in Old Town Galt on Sept. 21, with appetizers at 6 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $75 per person and benefits the Galt High and Liberty Ranch FFA programs. The 5-course dinners will be prepared by Jackson Catering and served along the Galt Promenade on Fourth Street.

#Timmy Strong Family & Community Day

Friday, Sept. 27 is #Timmy Strong Family & Community Day at Liberty Ranch High School and needs donations of all types, including monetary, food and raffle prizes.

The event will include bounce houses for $5 a day, BBQ and El Rodeo food, music, silent auction, vendors and special guests from the 501st Legion Central California Garrison, an Imperial Star Wars Costuming Organization.

Hours are 5-8 p.m. at 12945 Marengo Road. Sponsored by Liberty Ranch High School NHS, with proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation, this is not a Galt school district-sponsored program and the district accepts no liability or responsibility for this program/activity.

Drive Down Memory Lane Car Show Sept. 28

Galt Area Historical Society presents Drive Down Memory Lne Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at McFarland Living History Ranch, 8899 Orr Road in Galt.

Featured will be street rods, pick ups, muscle cars, special interest and custom vehicles. Vendors, music, food, pie sale and raffle will provide fun for the whole family. Best of Show awards will be presented at 2 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person with children under 12 free.

Fire station open house Sept. 28

Cosumnes Fire Department will host an open house at Station 45, 229 Fifth Street, on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At this free event, guests will be able to meet the firefighters serving our community, tour the station and see the fire engines.

Back to School Carnival Sept. 29 at Adventist school

A Back To School Carnival will be held at the Galt Adventist School on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 619 Myrtle Avenue.

A wristband can be purchased at the door, or pre-purchased for $5, for unlimited waterslide and bounce house use. Also featured will be carnival games, inflatables, prizes and food. To pre-purchase tickets, call Toni Del Grande at 209-327-1010.

Coffee with a Cop Oct. 2

Coffee with a Cop will next be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 7:30-9:30 a.m., at Aroma Bakery, 241 S. Lincoln Way in Galt. Come join your neighbors and police officers for coffee and conversation. There is no agenda or speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.

Antique Equipment Show

The annual Galt Fall Gas-up antique equipment show will be held Oct. 4-5 at McFarland Ranch on Orr Road in Galt from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free entrance and parking, brought to you by the Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Assoc., Inc. Branch 13.

Free E-Waste Collection

A free e-waste collection will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the F&M Bank parking lot at 10330 Twin Cities Road in Galt, as a fundraiser for United Way. Items may be dropped off in a drive-through area and unloaded for your convenience.

Accepted items include monitors, TVs, desktop and notebook PCs, VCRs, stereo equipment, CDs, speakers, keyboards, mice, PDAs, digital cameras, zip drives, telephones, cell phones, printers, copiers, laser and multifunction scanners and fax machines.

Unacceptable items are large household appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.), furniture, hazardous household waste, including batteries, car batteries, paint, pesticides, used oil, cleaning supplies, fluorescent light bulbs, water heaters, tires, small household appliances such as toasters, microwaves, mixers and blenders, vacuum cleaners with the dust bag removed, curling irons, lamps, etc.

The Galt Market Movie Night

The Galt Market proudly presents Spookishly Fun Movie Night on Saturday, Oct. 19 as a free event in the city of Galt at Veterans Field, 900 Caroline Avenue. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with trick or treat stations for costumed kids at 5:45 p.m., yummy food vendors, and the movie “Hotel Transylvania 3” starts at dusk. Bring your own chairs and blankets, family and friends.
