Legos at Galt library, Thursdays in June
The Galt-Marian O. Lawrence Library will host Lego Parties each Thursday in June from 2-4 p.m. The library will have Lego blocks for children to build with, “so bring your imagination and creativity to the library.” The library is located at 1000 Caroline Ave.
Retirement party for Sgt. Walton June 25
The Galt Area Historical Society is hosting a community event at the Rae House Museum to honor Galt Police Department Sgt. Craig Walton, who is retiring from the agency after 30 years of service to Galt. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 25. The Rae House Museum is located at 204 Oak Ave., and will be open for tours during the event.
Summer on the Run, starting June 27
Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church is accepting applications for its Summer on the Run day camp program. Free for children ages 7-13, the program will run from June 27 to July 1, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m, with a free lunch. It will feature morning worship, small-group activities, big-group games, basketball, a giant waterslide, crafts and many other activities.

Saturday Market July 2
The city of Galt is hosting a new Saturday Market on the first Saturday of the month through October. The event will take place on the Fourth Street Promenade and last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will offer food, produce, fresh flowers, and arts and crafts.
The next Saturday Market is scheduled for July 2 and will fold in the festivities of the annual Independence Day Celebration. For more information on the market, visit bit.ly/SaturdayMarketGalt (case sensitive).
National Night Out Aug. 2
The Galt Police Department will host the annual National Night Out on Aug. 2. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at three locations around the city: Meadowview Park, Galt Sports Complex and Galt Community Park. There will be music and food, as well as jump houses and games for the kids.

GAHS car show seeks entrants
The Galt Area Historical Society is accepting entries for its annual Car Show at McFarland Living History Ranch on Aug. 27. It is looking for 1970 vehicles or older, including pickups, muscle cars, motorcycles and more.
Registration costs $20. The first 100 cars registered are guaranteed a dash plaque, and all entrants receive a T-shirt, $35 toward an oil change and a free lunch.
