Wilton Rose Garden pruning slated Sunday
It’s that time of year again. The roses at the Wilton Memorial Rose Garden are once again in need of community volunteers to help get them in shape for spring blooming. Pruning day will be on Saturday, Jan. 12, beginning at 8 a.m. There are over 500 roses that need pruning. The roses, along with the annual Memorial Day Program and the Commemorative Bricks, rely entirely on volunteers and donations. If you can spare a few hours helping with this year’s pruning, grab your pruning shears, gloves, garden shoes and come on out and lend a hand. We will also be in need of a trailer or two to haul away pruning debris. The garden is located next to the Wilton Post Office at 11090 Jeff Brian Lane. For more information, call Susan Maggy at 916-687-7569.
