Valentine See’s Candy sales at library

Galt Friends of the Library are selling a Valentine assortment of See’s Candy at the Marian O. Lawrence Library this week from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 14, between 12 and 5 p.m. only, as long as supplies last. Proceeds will help support special library programs throughout the year.

HCC Chili Cook Off

Herald Community Club will host a chili cook off and membership drive Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Herald Fire Department, 12746 Ivie Road. Come and enjoy some community fun and great chili. For just a $5 donation, you can become a member of the Herald Community Club and taste all the chili entries. Enter your special recipe or enjoy everyone else’s. Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner March 14

The Alta Mesa Gun Club is having its annual corned beef and cabbage dinner at the clubhouse in Wilton on Saturday, March 14. The cost is $20 per person; children 12 and under are $10. Hope 4 Horses dinner April 4

Hope 4 Horses will host a fundraising dinner Saturday, April 4 at the Littleton Community Center from 5:30-9 p.m. The event begins with a no-host bar and includes a silent auction, raffle, dessert auction, barbecue dinner, dancing and music by Stripped By Hippies. Tickets are $40 per person and child tickets are $25. This event is a major fundraiser for the organization that supports the transition of rescued horses, as well as its horsemanship programs and care for the horses. Visit hope4horses.com for tickets.

Galt Earth Day celebration April 18

Galt Community of Character Coalition presents Galt Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 18 at the Chabolla Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come celebrate Earth Day’s 50th anniversary with live music, presentations, keynote speakers, exhibits, workshops, vendors, and fun and games. This is a free family event.

Liberty Ranch 5K Run/Walk

The Liberty Ranch Hawks will hold a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 9, with proceeds going toward senior athlete scholarships. The community is invited to participate by signing up at www.eventbrite.com.
