Turkey Trot  for Teal

The annual 5k Turkey Trot For Teal, benefiting Strong As Steele Cancer Foundation, will be held Thanksgiving morning in Herald. Galt Teen Center Fundraiser Dec. 5

Enjoy a delicious meal and support local teens at Brewsters Bar & Grill on Thursday, Dec. 5 by purchasing a meal to benefit the Galt Teen Center. Brewsters will donate 20 percent of every meal purchased that day to the teen center.

Live Nativity Dec. 5-7 in Galt

Galt Bible Church will present its Live Nativity on three evenings, Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5-7 at 801 Church Street. The walk-through experience is free and includes a tour through the town of Bethlehem on the night Christ was born. Hours are between 6:30 and 8 p.m. each evening.

St. Luke’s church Christmas Bazaar

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church invites you to stop by this year at its 106th annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shop for baked goods, handcrafted items, including dishtowels by Helene, and decorations. Stay awhile for free refreshments and visit with old friends. St. Luke’s is located on the corner of Third and B streets in Galt.

Galt Cars for Kids Toy Rally

A Galt Cars for Kids Toy Rally will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Fire Station 44, 205 Guild Street in Galt.

Christmas Parade

The Lighting of the Night Christmas Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 7 to assist Santa Claus down the streets of downtown Galt. All are invited to join in with schools, churches, businesses, teams and family floats. No fee is required. Senior Holiday Luncheon Dec. 12

Senior citizens are invited to South County Services 13th annual Senior Holiday Luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Real Men’s Club of Galt will once again cook for the event. The menu will include their famous barrel pork chops, mashed potatoes, green beans and Spaans Parker House rolls.

The holiday celebration will include a gift drawing and holiday entertainment at the Chabolla Community Center, 660 Chabolla Avenue in Galt. To RSVP, call 209-745-9174. Tickets can be picked up at South County Services, 431 S. Lincoln Way. Reserve your tickets early, only 70 tickets left.

Breakfast with Santa Dec. 14

Galt Market and Liberty Ranch Hawks baseball will host Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 8:30-11 a.m. at the Chabolla Community Center, 610 Chabolla Avenue. Santa arrives at 8:45 a.m. and will need to head off to manage the naughty and nice lists at 10:30 a.m. Santa’s elves will serve pancakes, sausage, fruit and juice. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door, but space is limited. Bring your camera to snap a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Community Christmas Dinner

The Galt Sunrise Rotary Club, alongside several local volunteers and sponsors have teamed up again this year to present a complete Christmas dinner to the residents of Galt. This annual dinner is free of charge and held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Galt Littleton Center, 410 Civic Drive. The full dinner includes turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, vegetables, dinner rolls and pie. Santa will be there with candy canes for the children. Everyone is welcome.

Christmas tree pickup Jan. 4

In cooperation with California Waste Recovery Systems (Cal-Waste), members of local Scouting units will hold their annual Christmas tree pickup service on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Local Scouts are asking for a donation for the removal of each tree picked up at the curb. This service is a major fundraiser for local Boy Scouts.

Please place your tree, free of decorations, on the curb in front of your home and the boys will pick it up for disposal. Cal-Waste then transports the old trees to one of its facilities.

Galt Lions Crab & Shrimp Feed

Galt Lions Club will hold its Crab & Shrimp Feed on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Littleton Community Center, 420 Civic Drive in Galt. Cost is $50 per person with all-you-can-eat crab, shrimp, two pastas, salad and rolls. The 6:30 p.m. dinner will be preceded with no-host cocktails at 5:30 p.m. Music will be provided by a local DJ, and there will be a raffle and dancing. There will be wine upon request during dinner while supplies last, and a $10 corkage fee for outside wine. All proceeds benefit the Galt Lions Service Projects.
