Community Blood Drive Oct. 22

Galt High FFA will host a blood drive on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 1:30-5:30 p.m. at Valley Oaks Grange Hall, 347 Fifth Street in Galt. Please make an appointment by logging on to and enter code SMF1034.

Dia de los Muertos Oct. 24 at cemetery

Come celebrate at Galt-Arno Cemetery Dia de los Muertos, a free event, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 14180 Joy Drive. Social distancing will be practiced during Mass, graveside altars, live entertainment and food. For more information, call 209-745-2581.

Prescription Drug Take-Back

The Drug Enforcement Administration and its national and community partners will hold a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Galt Police Department, 455 Industrial Drive. This is a safe, convenient and ecologically responsible method of prescription drug disposal. Bring prescription medication for drop-off and get it out of your home to reduce the potential for it being on the streets. This year, they will be accepting vape pens and e-cigarettes, as long as the batteries have been removed. Hypodermic needles are not accepted at this event.

Great Galt Pumpkin Hunt

The city of Galt and the Galt Market are hosting the Great Galt Pumpkin Hunt beginning Oct. 26 through Oct. 30. Organizers will hide one pumpkin a day in a local business for five days. Clues will be posted on the Galt Market Facebook page to help seekers locate the Great Galt Pumpkin. Be the first to find the hidden pumpkin and win a Spooktacular Halloween Basket. The first clue will be posted on the Galt Market page Oct. 26 at 9 a.m.

Spookishly Fun Family Night Oct. 30

The Galt Market presents a Spookishly Fun Family Night on Oct. 30 at the Galt Market grounds from 6:30-8 p.m. This free family event will feature trunk or treating and Disney Halloween movies for all ages. Guests can begin their evening by traveling through Trunk or Treat Lane, where local businesses will be set up to hand out candy and treats. Three showings of “Toy Story of Terror” will begin at 7 p.m., with subsequent showings at 7:30 and 8:15 p.m.
