Calendar items for the About Town section of The Galt Herald will be accepted for all local nonprofit events held for the community, and for nonprofit fundraising events at the discretion of the editor. Calendar items must be received by 12 p.m. on Monday to ensure publication in the Wednesday edition. All items must be received in writing or via email and must include a contact phone number. Dine & Donate Event

The Galt Kiwanis Club invites you to its Dine & Donate Event to benefit children in the community on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Partnering with Stratton’s Pizzeria, who will be donating a percentage of all sales made from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. to the Kiwanis club. Share a picture of the advertisement poster or bring in a flyer to inform your server when ordering that you are supporting the fundraiser. All dine-in, take-out and delivery orders qualify.

 

Turkey Trot for Teal

The annual 5k Turkey Trot For Teal, benefiting Strong As Steele Cancer Foundation, will be held Thanksgiving morning in Herald. Festivities begin at 8 a.m. at the Hendrickson Hall Training Center, 12746 Ivie Road. Registration is $30. Visit Strong As Steel on Facebook and follow the links to register. Live Nativity Dec. 5-7 in Galt

Galt Bible Church will present its Live Nativity on three evenings, Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5-7 at 801 Church Street. The walk-through experience is free and includes a tour through the town of Bethlehem on the night Christ was born. Hours are between 6:30 and 8 p.m. each evening.

St. Luke’s church Christmas Bazaar

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church invites you to stop by this year at its 106th annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shop for baked goods, handcrafted items, including dishtowels by Helene, and decorations. Stay awhile for free refreshments and visit with old friends. St. Luke’s is located on the corner of Third and B streets in Galt.

Christmas Parade

The Lighting of the Night Christmas Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 7 to assist Santa Claus down the streets of downtown Galt. All are invited to join in with schools, churches, businesses, teams and family floats. No fee is required. Senior Holiday Luncheon Dec. 12

Senior citizens are invited to a Senior Holiday Luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., prepared by The Real Men’s Club of Galt. The menu will include their famous barrel pork chops, mashed potatoes, green beans and Spaans Parker House rolls.

The holiday celebration will include a gift drawing and holiday entertainment at the Chabolla Community Center, 660 Chabolla Avenue in Galt. To RSVP, call 209-745-9174. Breakfast with Santa Dec. 14

Galt Market and Liberty Ranch Hawks baseball will host Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 8:30-11 a.m. at the Chabolla Community Center, 610 Chabolla Avenue. Santa arrives at 8:45 a.m. and will need to head off to manage the naughty and nice lists at 10:30 a.m. Santa’s elves will serve pancakes, sausage, fruit and juice. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door, but space is limited. Bring your camera to snap a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Community Christmas Dinner

The Galt Sunrise Rotary Club, alongside several local volunteers and sponsors have teamed up again this year to present a complete Christmas dinner to the residents of Galt. This annual dinner is free of charge and held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Galt Littleton Center, 410 Civic Drive. The full dinner includes turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, vegetables, dinner rolls and pie. Santa will be there with candy canes for the children. Everyone is welcome.
