Legos at Galt library, Thursdays in June

The Galt-Marian O. Lawrence Library will host Lego Parties each Thursday in June, 2-4 p.m. The library will have Lego blocks for children to build with, “so bring your imagination and creativity to the library.” The library is located at 1000 Caroline Ave.

Wine tasting, book signing on June 11, 12

Barsetti Vineyards will hold a wine tasting, and a book signing for a local author, at its Galt tasting room on June 11 and 12. Part of Celebrate Lodi Rose Weekend, the free event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with live music and a complimentary tasting of several Barsetti wines.

Author Durlynn Anema will be signing her most recent book, “Camels over the Sierra Nevada,” about a 19th-century scheme to use camels as pack animals at the California border.

HCC to host yard sale on June 12

Herald Community Club is hosting Spring Fling Community Yard Sale at Herald Community Park on June 12. Come out from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to buy or sell used items and crafts. It costs $30 to reserve a 10-by-10 spot. For more information, call Robin at 209-810-8380.

Lodi Moose Lodge car show June 18

Lodi Moose Lodge 634 and Moose Riders will host a car show on June 18. Admission is free. Registration, $40 per vehicle, starts at 9 a.m. and comes with a free lunch. The show is open to classic cars, motorcycles, trucks, vans and hot rods. All net proceeds benefit Cancer Kids of San Joaquin County.

At 11:30 a.m., $5 lunches will be served. A raffle will be held at 1 p.m., and the awards ceremony will follow at 2 p.m. DJ Dennis S will provide entertainment.

Saturday Market July 2

The city of Galt is hosting a new Saturday Market on the first Saturday of the month through October. The event will take place on the Fourth Street Promenade and last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will offer food, produce, fresh flowers, and arts and crafts.

National Night Out Aug. 2

The Galt Police Department will host the annual National Night Out on Aug. 2. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at three locations around the city: Meadowview Park, Galt Sports Complex and Galt Community Park. There will be music and food, as well as jump houses and games for the kids.

GAHS car show seeks entrants

The Galt Area Historical Society is accepting entries for its annual Car Show at McFarland Living History Ranch on Aug. 27. It is looking for 1970 vehicles or older, including pickups, muscle cars, motorcycles and more.

Registration costs $20. The first 100 cars registered are guaranteed a dash plaque, and all entrants receive a T-shirt, $35 toward an oil change and a free lunch.
