Calendar items for the About Town section of The Galt Herald will be accepted for all local nonprofit events held for the community, and for nonprofit fundraising events at the discretion of the editor. Independence Day Celebration

Galt’s Independence Day celebration will be held on Sunday, July 4, beginning with the ninth annual Officer Tonn 5K Run. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall and participants will hit the streets at 8 a.m.

The annual parade will begin at 9:30 a.m., from the Galt Market grounds.

To help comply with state and county safety guidelines, the city is offering “Drive-in Fireworks”. Space is limited. Tickets are $20 per car and can be purchased online at beginning June 7. Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include live music, roaming entertainment, 4th of July swag and a premium view of the fireworks.

Back this year is “Fireworks in the Pool”. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning May 29 during public swim hours at the Gora Aquatic Center. Tickets are $25 for four people or $8 for individuals. Due to safety guidelines, the event will be limited to 320 guests, and guests must wear a facemask when not swimming in the pool.
