Prop 68 Community Meeting
Do you love parks? Public community meetings will be held this week to discuss Prop 68 park possibilities for the city of Galt. Come to one meeting or all of them.

Coffee with a
Cop June 8
The Galt Police Department invites the public to meet some of the city’s finest over a cup of coffee during Coffee with a Cop event, Saturday, June 8 at The Coffee Shop Bakery, 411 C Street. Officers will be present from 10 a.m. to noon.
Come meet your local law enforcement, discuss issues or, better yet, thank them for serving our community.
Wine Down at Barsetti Vineyards
Buy a glass or bottle of wine to enjoy with appetizers (Friday only) and live music (Friday and Saturday) from 6:30-9 p.m. Cover charge waived for Barsetti Wine Club members. Barsetti Wine Tasting Room in Old Town Galt is located at 400 Fourth Street, Suite 150.
Alta Mesa Gun Club celebrates 75 years
The Alta Mesa Gun Club’s 75th Anniversary Celebration will be held at the club at 10100 Reigl Road in Wilton on Saturday, June 8. Shooting games begin at 10 a.m., followed by a barbecue lunch at 11:30 a.m. provided by JR’s Texas BBQ. There will also be a gun raffle for a Berretta A-300 12 gauge Sporting Clay Shotgun. The cost for lunch is $20 per person and must be preordered. Gun raffle tickets are $20 each.

Real Men’s Club Brunch
On Saturday, June 8, Real Men’s Club will meet at 2 p.m. for a 3 p.m. brunch at 11096 Alta Mesa Road in Wilton for a $25 donation each for men and women age 21 and above. No tickets will be sold at the door. The menu features tri tip and chicken. A no-host bar, live music and car show will be included with ticket purchase.

Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament
The Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is taking registrations for its 11th annual tournament, which will be held June 8 at The Reserve at Spanos Park. Proceeds will provide scholarships for Galt high schools and the JGANC. The format is a four-person scramble and lunch and a raffle will be held at 1 p.m. The cost is $100 per golfer. Library reopening celebration
The Galt library will be celebrating its reopening Tuesday, June 11 at 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy free sno-cones and a nature show presented by Nature’s Critters at 5:30 p.m.
E.G.-So. County Democratic Club
The Elk Grove-South County Democratic Club will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Elk Grove Library on Elk Grove Boulevard at Elk Grove-Florin Road. All are welcome.
The meeting will feature Mackenzie Wieser, newly appointed Elk Grove Planning Commissioner.

Independence Day Celebration
Galt’s Independence Day celebration will be held on Thursday, July 4, beginning with the seventh annual Officer Tonn 5K Run, to start at 8 a.m., from the Tonn Memorial at City Hall.
The parade will start at 9:30 a.m., from the Galt Market grounds. Entertainment will be provided by Kind of Blue Band. A kid zone will be held from 6-9:30 p.m., at Veterans Field. A fireworks viewing party from the pool will be from 7-10 p.m., at the Gora Aquatic Center, with the fireworks display lighting up at 9:30 p.m. from the Galt Market Grounds.

Galt Food Truck Mania
The Galt District Chamber of Commerce will host Galt Food Truck Mania on Saturday, July 6 from 4-8 p.m., on Fourth Street in Old Town Galt.
Food trucks will compete for your patronage on the first Saturday of each month, hoping to entice you to sample their best tastes.
Bingo in Wilton
The Wilton History Group monthly Bingo Night fundraiser is the first Saturday of each month. Players must be 18 years of age to play and be at the event. Proceeds from Bingo will be divided between the Wilton History Group and the Wilton Community Center nonprofits. Advance tickets are available for $35 to attend the Galt Area Historical Society’s ninth annual Sip & Snack at the Mac, to be held at McFarland Living History Ranch, 8899 Orr Road, on Saturday, July 27 from 6-9 p.m. Live music by Phil & da Pinots will begin at 7 p.m. and finish off the evening at 10 p.m.
