Mr. Fred Liebig, 38, of Galt suffered a broken leg yesterday at his home north of Galt on Highway 99 as a result of a fall from the top of his new barn, which he was shingling.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Tipling of Clay Oct. 13, a daughter, Judith Ann, weighing 5 pounds 14 ounces.

Oct. 19, 1951

Rita Loll, Galt High School student was elected Saturday in a special meeting at Asilomar as vice president of the State Future Homemakers of America.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sharp of Galt are parents of a girl named Sally, born at Buchanan Hospital Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. She weighed 8 pounds.

Penny Hepper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hepper of Galt fractured her wrist in a fall this week.

Shirley Huston was crowned Galt Homecoming Queen for 1961 in ceremonies at the homecoming rally last Thursday. Attendants are Carol Warddrip, Lana Williams and Christine Johnson.

A surprise housewarming party was given Mr. and Mrs. Rico Listini by his fellow employees at the Hodnett & Son Plumbing.

Cathy Stiehr was selected as this year’s Galt High School homecoming queen. Jeff Barsetti was her escort as she was introduced Friday night.

The Galt High School’s livestock judging team of Ralph Anderson, Jim Aschwanden and Ricky Mendonca placed second in the Future Farmers of America competition at their national convention. The judging was on Thursday, Oct. 14 in Kansas City, Mo.

Oct. 22, 1981

An ordinance to allow halfplexes – a double house with two owners – in multiple unit zones was introduced by the Galt City Council with final action expected at next week’s meeting.

Jennifer Louise Hausauer of Galt and Michael Sienega of Lodi became husband and wife when they recited nuptial vows July 11 at the Galt Bible Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Meier of Galt have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sandra Meier, to Mark Blasingame of Acampo.
