Wild mustang adoption slated May 18
The Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center’s Wild Horse program will hold is 2019 Spring Adoption on Saturday, May 18 at R3C Ranch at 12270 Bruceville Road, Elk Grove. The meet-and-greet is at 9 a.m. A demonstration will be held at 10 a.m., and adoptions will begin at 11 a.m.
Wilton Memorial Rose Garden needs volunteers
The roses at the Wilton Memorial Rose Garden need community volunteers to help deadhead and weed on Saturday, May 18 at 8:30 a.m. in preparation for the Memorial Day Observance. If you can help, grab your pruning shears, gloves, garden shoes and come on out to lend a hand. The garden is located next to the Wilton Post Office at 11090 Jeff Brian Lane. Galt Food Truck Mania
The Galt District Chamber of Commerce will host Galt Food Truck Mania on Saturday, June 1 from 4-8 p.m., on Fourth Street in Old Town Galt.
Food trucks will compete for your patronage on the first Saturday of each month, hoping to entice you to sample their best tastes.
Alta Mesa Gun Club celebrates 75 years
The Alta Mesa Gun Club’s 75th Anniversary Celebration will be held at the club at 10100 Reigl Road in Wilton on Saturday, June 8. Shooting games begin at 10 a.m., followed by a barbecue lunch at 11:30 a.m. provided by JR’s Texas BBQ. There will also be a gun raffle for a Berretta A-300 12 gauge Sporting Clay Shotgun. The cost for lunch is $20 per person and must be preordered. Gun raffle tickets are $20 each.

Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament
The Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is taking registrations for its 11th annual tournament, which will be held June 8 at The Reserve at Spanos Park. Proceeds will provide scholarships for Galt high schools and the JGANC. The format is a four-person scramble and lunch and a raffle will be held at 1 p.m. The cost is $100 per golfer. Bingo in Wilton
The Wilton History Group monthly Bingo Night fundraiser is the first Saturday of each month. Players must be 18 years of age to play and be at the event. Proceeds from Bingo will be divided between the Wilton History Group and the Wilton Community Center nonprofits.
