National Night Out

Despite the heat, Galt residents gathered at three locations Tuesday, Aug. 6 for the annual National Night Out (NNO) event. Meadowview and Galt Community parks and the Galt Marian O. Lawrence Library were the venues for the community gatherings.

Activities, games, vendors, music and free food met guests at each location.

City officials, Galt police officers, police volunteers, police K9 officers, Cosumnes Fire Department personnel, California Highway Patrol, and various representatives from military branches traveled to each location to meet and greet community members, trying to establish a personal relationship.

Each site had different features, including taekwondo and karate, and for a special treat at the Meadowview Park location, the U.S. Coast Guard did a fly by.

Keeping guests engaged at each location, Juan Carbajal from Pure Form PFT in Galt made the rounds with the caravan. Carbajal recruited attendees, including police officers, for an impromptu “boot camp”.
