After making an announcement at the National Night Out event Aug. 6 asking local residents to help clean up the park the following day, the Galt Beautification Committee was joined by a mix of families and individuals Wednesday, Aug. 7, helping to make “Galt Look Good.”
“It was great to see families and individuals come out to be sure their neighborhood park represented their neighborhood pride,” said Barbara Payne, Beautification Committee chair. “Thank you to these Galt citizens.”
Along with cleaning up trash and litter that morning, volunteers also cleaned the signs along the pathways that were covered with mud and bird droppings. The signs tell about the nature inhabitants, as well as information about the Miwok American Indians, who were the first inhabitants in our area.
“They are beautiful signs to read while walking along the paths,” Payne said.
The Galt Beautification Committee holds monthly cleanup days; check with the City Clerk’s office for details at 366-7130.
