Galt Parade

Galt has a long history of parades celebrating one event or another, from the 4th of July to St. Patrick’s Day. This shot is from a Galt Festival parade from around 1965. Most of the parade routes used C Street, either going east or going west. This one traversed B Street, going west before turning south on Fourth Street. The Brewster Building in the background had a meat locker business. The wagon in the parade representing Pollardville participated in most parades in Lodi, Stockton and Galt. Pollardville, known for its old west ghost town and restaurant, closed in 2007.
