Galt United Methodist Church is recognized by the Galt Beautification Committee for the beautiful landscaping at the church’s council meeting for making C Street and ‘Galt Looking Good’. Pastor Norm Mowery gave the credit to John Houck and John’s son for the design and hard work. This was not the first time that John had helped to make Galt look good. He did the original landscaping at Galt City Hall many years ago. The landscape in the front of the church includes a specially designed pathway among mostly drought tolerant plants. The bench at the front of the church gives someone an opportunity to sit and reflect while enjoying the plants that create a buffer from the busy C Street. Leesa Klotz invited the Beautification Committee to a warm welcome and refreshments. Amy Sandhu presented a certificate from the city for ‘Keeping Galt Looking Good’. Barbara Payne, Darlene Brown, Tiffany Manning and Gale Webber joined in congratulating John and the church.
