One of the oldest residences in this section is being razed at the present time. It is the McKenzie property on 6th Street between D and E streets, and according to residents here has been standing for more than 73 years.

The Galt Chamber of Commerce passed a resolution last Monday evening at its regular monthly meeting that annual member dues in the chamber would henceforth be $5, regardless of the size of the business unit.
Feb. 25, 1960
William Spaans, member of the Galt Chamber of Commerce and owner of the Spaans Cookie Factory, has withdrawn from the city council race and Ronald Jacobson, member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, has entered as a write-in candidate.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Ceccarini of Galt are the proud parents of a daughter, Barbara Ellen, born Feb. 7 at Lodi Memorial Hospital at 2:56 p.m., weighing 7 pounds 4½ ounces.

A general lack of interest, conflicting dates with several large organizations with out-of-town commitments has cancelled the Chamber of Commerce’s 30th birthday ball which was to be held Saturday at the community hall in Galt.
The Galt Livestock Sales Yard will be closed as of this week, and the weekly Wednesday sale will be held at the Cattlemen’s Livestock Market, three miles north of Galt on Highway 99.
