Grand opening of Kellers & Hessler Feed Store on Lincoln Way and B Street is tentatively scheduled for March 10, it was announced by the owners. They are Al Hessler and Dave and Henry Keller, all of Galt.
Steve Patterson of Galt has been appointed a fire commissioner with the Galt Fire District, it was announced yesterday by Walter C. Kelley, new supervisor for the 4th District of Sacramento County. He will fill the vacancy left by Archie Skaggs. The other commissioners are Art Mollring and Elmer E. Evers.

Galt voters approved a bond issue of $135,000 and authorized the Galt Elementary School board to apply for a state loan of $150,000 Tuesday, assuring the end of double sessions as quickly as new classrooms can be built.
A raid was made on a cockfight last Monday and 113 birds were confiscated from the Courtland and Walnut Grove areas. This is the third raid in two months.

The time is drawing near, the leprechauns are leaving the embattled slopes of Ireland and heading for a new home on March 17, at St. Patrick, California, known a few days of the year as Galt.
Miss Norene Pratton, senior at Galt High School, was awarded first place in the Galt Lions annual speech contest held Feb. 25.

Deborah Kay Moller, of Galt, was named Miss Sacramento County ’81 at the Hiram Johnson High School.
Ted and Frances Hambleton were announced as 1981 Thornton Citizens of the Year at the annual meeting of the chamber and Thornton Hall Association meeting.
