A special meeting of the Galt Chamber of Commerce heard good news Monday night. The County of Sacramento is going to build a new library and justice courthouse in Galt as soon as a suitable location can be found.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Salas, Larry and Karen, and Susie Keim spent from Sunday until Monday of the following week camping at Silver Lake. Dickie Guthrie spent the last two days with them.
Galt Future Teachers of America new officers are Ronald Arrants, president; Pauline Schulze, secretary; Myron Wolf, treasurer; Sue Spaans, historian.

The Senior Citizens Club of Galt had its first meeting last week with 30 persons in attendance, 20 of who signed up for membership. Temporary officers were elected.
Carl A. Grose, a sophomore at the University of the Pacific, was one of 250 students on the dean’s list of honor students for the spring 1969 semester.

By a narrow 4-3 vote, LAFCo last Wednesday accepted the Russell reorganization that will add approximately 148 acres to Galt’s city limit.
Gerald and Debbie Schwartz of Galt are the proud parents of a baby girl, Jamie Lynn, born July 23 at Lodi Memorial Hospital. She weighed 9 pounds 10 ounces and is the couple’s first child … James Bain and Lisaeth Passalis-Bain announced the birth of their first child, a son, Nicholas Theodore James Passalis-Bain, born May 26 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stockton. He weighed 7 pounds, 5½ ounces and measured 21 inches.
