Mrs. Quentin Thayer has accepted a position as stenographer at the Bank of Galt.
Mr. and Mrs. Dunn and family of Oklahoma have rented the 20 acres in Twin Cities owned by Hattie Dresser.
Marilyn Bottimore celebrated her 2nd birthday at the home of her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Curtis Bolton of Clay Oct. 2. The little guests were Maxine Hauschildt, Edward Hauschildt, Kenneth Whittemore, Janet Whittemore, Patty and Kenneth Smoot and Mrs. Helen Bottimore.

New families in the Herald district have enrolled their children in the Herald School: Cecil Batey who lives on the Haines farm, R. Harris on the Bazonti farm, Richard Summers who lives near the Fowler Turn and Edward Schmier who is now staying on the Fred Schmier ranch. Mrs. Grace Andruss is teaching the four upper grades while Mrs. Anne Moran teaches the lower grades.
Mr. and Mrs. John Melhaff of Galt are the parents of a son, Ted, born at Buchanan Hospital on Sept. 27. He weighed 8 pounds and arrived at 6:05 a.m.

The Galt Fashion Shop moved into its new quarters on Lincoln Way in the Livingston building over the weekend. Mrs. Erma Listini is the owner.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rothenberger of Galt a son, Richard Anthony, Sept. 19 at 8:04 p.m., Lodi Memorial Hospital. Weight: 10 pounds 2½ ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Henkes of Galt are proud grandparents of a granddaughter, Denese Marie, born Sept. 28 to Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Henkes of Paramount. She weighed 7 pounds.

Merk Roberts was selected as the new chairman of the Galt Community Festival Monday night for the ’70-’71 festival. It was decided to rename the festival “Clover Festival.” It will be on a trial basis for the next two years.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rahmoeller of Galt are the proud parents of a baby girl, Kristi Ann, born Sept. 24 at Lodi Community Hospital. Little Kristi weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces at birth and is the couple’s first child.

Charmaine Canago, Galt’s recently chosen Rodeo Queen, perished in a one-car accident near Stockton last Friday afternoon.
Joshua Hamilton has joined the household of Otis and Margaret Brookins and welcoming him are grandparents Stan and Mary Brookins of Galt.
