Mr. and Mrs. Martin D. McAllister are the proud parents of a son born Saturday, April 23. Mrs. McAllister is the former Cleo Carpenter of Galt whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Carpenter, went to see the new arrival.

The regular meeting of the Grange was held on April 24. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dean were obligated as new members by Dist. Deputy Percy Simons of Sacramento.
Now making their home in Galt are the new Mr. and Mrs. Warren Dughi who repeated marriage vows at a solemn high nuptial mass performed at 11 a.m. on April 19 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sacramento.

The Galt High School Concert Band, under the direction of Robert A. Gonzalez, received an “Excellent” rating in a music competition last Saturday in San Francisco.
The engagement of Miss Sylvia King and Daniel Warner was recently announced at a buffet supper in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orvell Fletcher.
Jeanne Elaine Guthmiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Guthmiller of Galt, and Leon Leroy Reich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Reich, also of Galt, joined the just weds April 19, when they recited wedding vows at the Galt Lutheran Church.
Rei Rebekah Lodge met for their regular meeting and also to initiate Mrs. Grace Merritt as a member.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Melin, the former Sue Mollring, are the proud parents of a baby girl, Michelle Sue, born April 16.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rogers became the proud parents of a baby boy born on Wednesday March 5 and is named Mark Frankland. Mrs. Rogers is the former Gail Van Allen.

VFW Post 9888 and VFW Post 9888 Auxiliary officers were installed Friday night. Going in as Post Commander is John Melhaff, and his wife Beverly will be president of the newly chartered VFW Auxiliary. Assisting Beverly will be Genny Prince, Sr. vice president; Mary Westermark, chaplain; Darlene Beckler, secretary; Rhonda Smith, treasurer; Thelma Harper, conductress; Dorothy Gross, guard; Rhonda Smith, historian; and trustees, Pauline Archer, Dixie Johnson and Gladys Sanders.

Galt City Council voted 3-1 with one abstention to approve the Victorian Park 72-home subdivision last Tuesday despite the complaints of two residents and a city councilman. Councilman Cedro Casado voted against approval and Councilman Orvell Fletcher abstained.
