A flagpole for the elementary school is being given by the Galt District Chamber of Commerce as a token of appreciation of the people of Galt for the fine new elementary school plant … The chamber was also awarded first prize for out of town floats at the Lodi Grape & Wine Festival last Sunday.
At the regular meeting of the Galt Businessmen’s Association last week, a new slate of officers was elected. They are: President, Bill Weathers; Vice President, Cleo McDorman; and Secretary-Treasurer, Wayne Field.

Marilyn Bottimore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eb Bottimore of Herald, recently left for a general tour of Europe. She graduated from Galt High School in 1955 and Stanford University this year.
Jerlyn Brodehl, Edwin Pullen and Patricia Sanford enrolled at Pacific Union College this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Jeffries Jr. of Galt are the proud parents of a baby girl, Diana Jean, born Sept. 9 at Lodi Memorial Hospital. Little Diana weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob S. Jacobson Jr. and children Cindy, Greg, Terri and Todd attended the Allen Bradley orchestra and chorus variety show in Sacramento last week.

October has been set aside as National Carnival Glass Month and, to celebrate it, Gordon and Charlotte Williams, avid glass collectors, will be showcasing some of this unique glass at the local banks throughout the month.
The Galt Jaycees will be dedicating Harvey Park Sunday. They will be commemorating the Harvey family who donated the land so that the Galt Jaycees could construct a community baseball park.
