The new owners of the bakery in Galt are Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wagemann of Acampo and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Davis of San Francisco. They bought the plant from Mr. and Mrs. A. Bender of Galt.

Ronald L. Pullen, owner, is announcing the opening of his new subdivision located on the corner of Myrtle and Palin streets, one block west of Galt High School.

A son was born Nov. 14 to Mr. and Mrs. David Buell of Galt in the Buchanan Hospital, Lodi … A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gisler of Thornton Nov. 13 in the Buchanan Hospital of Lodi … A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Peart of Galt in the Buchanan Hospital, Lodi.

Dec. 3, 1959

With 28 signing for membership, the Galt Junior Chamber of Commerce was formed with Wayne Patterson selected as the club’s first president. Other officers are Bob Schultz, first vice president; Dick Steiner, second vice president; Don Babcock, secretary; Elvin Miller, treasurer; Ronald Jacobson, state director; John Lanza and Walter Balliet, directors.

Dorothy Schauer, Irene Adams, Don Gudel, Barbara Sulze and Faye Templeton were present at a pizza party given by Faye Friday noon on her birthday. Faye is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Templeton.

Dec. 11, 1969

Loren Schmier, a graduate of Galt High School and lifetime restaurant manager and worker, now has the restaurant at the Galt Bowling Alley effective Dec. 1.

Reinhold ‘Gus’ Pahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Pahl of Galt, has joined the staff of the Don Saner Insurance firm in Sacramento. “Saner was an Elk Grove Herd quarterback and I was a wingback for the Warriors,” Pahl said.

By a 3-2 vote, the Galt City Council Tuesday night ordered a 100 percent increase in city water rates – an order that will boost the water bill for a single-family home to $8 per month.

Jim Walker is the new president of the Galt Senior Citizens.
