It will really be a wonderful new building that greets the returning elementary school pupils this year. The handsome new building, located on C Street west of the Galt Theatre, has all the latest innovations, even coral and green blackboards. The school will be ready for third through eighth graders.

Two girls from the Galt Girls 4-H Club are attending the 4-H convention at the University of California, Davis campus this weekend. They are Dorothy Bachman and Darlene Farrell.

Sept. 3, 1959

Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Lawrence, Deedra, Robert and Vickie returned Saturday night from a two-week trip by car. They visited relatives, and San Diego, Chicago and Minneapolis.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson, Galt, are the proud parents of a daughter, Cheryl Ann, who arrived Aug. 25 at Lodi Memorial Hospital at 12:29 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

Sept. 11, 1969

A longtime dream of many Galtonians became a reality Friday when Gov. Ronald Reagan signed into law AB 1089, returning the county fairgrounds to the people of Galt.

Edward F. Cattuzzo has been named as new principal of Fairsite School, to replace Edwin Ryon III, who resigned last term.

Sept. 6, 1979

The Galt City Council Tuesday evening approved the budget for the city of Galt for fiscal year 1979-80 with a deficit of $225,798.
