Born to T/Sgt. and Mrs. Wendell Houck on June 17, 1949 in Frankfurt, Germany a daughter named Joanne Elizabeth. Maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gudel of Galt are at the present time visiting the family.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hayenga and Charlene returned Sunday night from a two-week vacation trip to Lake Louise, Canada. This week the three journeyed to Lake Tahoe for an extended stay.
Sale of the Vossler Bros. Milling Co. of Galt to the Robinson Fuel & Feed Co. of Lodi and Galt was announced this week. Robinson’s will move their business into the Vossler Bros. present location on A Street.

Berniece Shelley was sworn in as Galt’s new City Clerk. Doing the honors was Marie Lawrence, former city clerk who is now working as secretary for William Dick, clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
Mr. and Mrs. Cedro Casado of 6th Street are entertaining their nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Salwasser, and children of Fresno for the summer.

Jill Arlin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray H. Arlin of Galt, and Gerald Franklin Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gedie F. Carter of Wilton, became man and wife at a double ring ceremony at the Galt Methodist Church on June 14.
Judy Kay Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Anderson of Acampo, and John Michael Ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Ward of Acampo, recited wedding vows June 22 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi.
Rev. H. Vorrath of the Galt Lutheran Church performed nuptials June 21, which united in marriage Susan Marie Peters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Peters of Galt, and Steven Howard Bowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bowers of Stockton.

The Galt Concilio Med Clinic has a new administrator. His name is Ted Tilley, a former member of the board of directors of the Concilio.
SMUD officials anticipated the Ranch Seco nuclear power plant would be running again this week, but a valve failure in a secondary steam line has put a stop to that until at least Friday.
