Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weir and their children Eugene and Virginia of Los Angeles have moved onto the former York chicken ranch near Herald.

Mrs. Helen Rae Bottimore, Mrs. Maestretti, Mrs. Evelyn Osler and Fred Liebig are the new assistance leaders for the Herald 4-H Club.

Nov. 12, 1959

Shelba Dee Perry, born 8:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Lodi Memorial Hospital, weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces. Parents are Rodney and Jane Perry, Galt.

The prevailing belief that the Galt Fairgrounds were a gift to Sacramento County from the city was disproved in a report to The Galt Herald Wednesday. The 55 acres, according to the report, were purchased at $1,000 per acre.

Nov. 13, 1969

Two Galt Elementary boys reported missing last week have been found. The first boy was found by a railroad detective in Stockton, (and) the second boy ran from the detective and was found two days later in Merced.

Galt FFA member Joe Hall was elected as Sectional FFA vice president at the first annual Leadership Conference held at Sierra Junior College.

Over 200 friends and relatives gathered at the Galt Community Center on Nov. 3 to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of Joe and Thelma Lindberg.

Longtime residents of Galt Esther and Albert Fort celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 20.
