Last Monday, Oct. 27, a group of playmates of Miss Frances Littleton gathered at the Littleton home, corner of 6th and C streets, in honor of Frances’ 4th birthday. Present were Barbara Ann Littlejohn, Susan Thomas, Richard Vucovich, Bobby Immoos, Billy Immoos, Bert Bader, Virginia Bader, Judy Kay, Jerry and Frances Jean Littleton.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thomas are the proud possessors of a brand new 1940 Pontiac, purchased through Galt Motors.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wharton of Galt are the parents of a son, Don Larry, born at Buchanan Hospital on Oct. 30. He weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and arrived at 9:56 a.m. … Mr. and Mrs. John Rouppet of Galt are the parents of a son, Brent John, born at Buchanan Hospital on Oct. 27. He weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and arrived at 4:57 a.m. … Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Williams, Galt, are the parents of a son not yet named, born at Mason Hospital on Oct. 26. He weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and arrived at 1:50 p.m.
Miss Dorothy Phifer, the new president of Delta Nu Theta Rho Girls Club No. 106, conducted her first initiation Monday night. Those initiated were Sue Thomas, Charlene Hayenga, Joanne Schoellerman, Joan Vossler and Virginia Van Conett.

The city of Galt has borrowed $15,000 on a 90-day contract, to boost their checking account. Being at a time of the year when revenue income is slow and city spending is high, they have found themselves without enough cash to pay the bills.
Richard Denier of Galt received the coveted American Farmer Degree at a special ceremony during the 43rd National Convention of the Future Farmers of America in Kansas City, Mo.
Margaret Geis, daughter of Mrs. Ruth Geis and the late Louis A. Geis, and Otis Harvey Brookins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Brookins, were wed in a double ring ceremony.

A rezone request that would locate a 75-unit townhouse near Dry Creek Ranch Golf Course met with community opposition at City Council. The development is proposed for 13 acres on the east side of Crystal Way between Crystalite Block Corporation and the golf course. The property would ultimately contain 75 townhouse units, a motel and recreational areas.
