Mrs. Lida B. Ward, local Justice of the Peace for Lee Township, will sail next Wednesday, April 3 where she will visit the Hawaiian Islands where she will spend a month visiting with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Bowman.

Mr. Harry Williams is sporting a brand new Chevrolet Cabrolet DeLuxe, purchased from the Galt Motors.

Appointment of City Judge Roy E. Foote as secretary of the Galt District Chamber of Commerce succeeding Wayne Field was announced yesterday by President Charles Bellie.

Jeanette Pahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Pahl of Galt has been chosen to represent Galt High School at Girls’ State in Sacramento it was announced yesterday by Mrs. Kathryn Taylor, faculty chairman of the selection committee. Her scholarship record is one of the highest in the school. She is a member of the Junior Class.

March 30, 1961

New Galt PTA presidents are Mrs. William Spaans, high school, and Mrs. Jim Kelley, elementary school.

Mrs. Ted Schauer and her daughters, Bonnie and Dorothy, left for a trip to Los Angeles and surrounding area March 13. They spent five days visiting Disneyland, some TV shows, Knotts Berry Farm and Marineland.

April 1, 1971

Frank Susich, sophomore student at Galt High School, was the winner of the 1971 Optimist International Boys’ Oratorical Contest district competition in Stockton March 17. Frank will compete this Sunday, April 4 in the Zone 6 semi-finals contest in Santa Rosa.

Weathers Hardware, owned and operated by Bill and Marjory Weathers in the Stop and Shop shopping center, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Galt with a special anniversary sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 1, 2 and 3. When they came to Galt they were the eighth business to take out a license.

April 2, 1981

Galt High School Board of Trustees rejected their previous action to accept wood bleachers for the south wall in the gym, and accepted the low bid of $8,884 for metal bleachers.

Patty Pate was named Clements Stampede Queen. Princesses are Debbie Hayes, first princess, and Shelley Contos, second princess.
