Eric Spiess was appointed to the Galt City Council by Mayor Bennie T. Casado Tuesday night, to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Lawrence Littleton. Mr. Spiess is president of the Galt Chamber of Commerce.

Little Vesta Sartini of Thornton celebrated her 5th birthday Monday. Mother Geraldine Sartini had a party for Vesta and 35 children and about 20 mothers who all wished her happy birthday.

At the last Herald 4-H meeting, the following officers were elected: Jackie Sessions, president; Phillip Henkes, vice president; Terry Lee Talcott, secretary-treasurer; Arleta McKeehan, reporter.

Rose Liebig, 1959 queen of the Galt Community Festival, and her escort, Kenneth Miller, have announced their engagement with plans for a May wedding.

Nov. 6, 1969

Art Mollring was again returned to the post of Galt Fire Protection District director, receiving 138 votes to Ken Kenney’s 114 in Tuesday’s election.

A landmark in Galt will soon be torn down, as the Methodist church building is no longer up to safety codes.

Michael and Norrie Wise of Galt are the proud parents of their first child born Oct. 6 in Lodi Memorial Hospital. Named Chad Lamont, he weighed 7 pounds 8½ ounces at birth.
