A church ceremony in Reno Saturday united in marriage two prominent local people, Miss Marion L. Randall and Mr. Eugene E. Kenefick. She has been employed in the Sego Milk plant for several years and he has been secretary-manager of the Sacramento County Fair & Livestock Show for the past seven years.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Boessow journeyed to Lake Tahoe last week to join the Misses Helen Mollring and Lois Boessow who had been vacationing there a few days. They all returned home Monday and reported a pleasant trip.

A week in Minden, Nev., Lake Tahoe and Bakersfield was spent by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olson and daughters Toni and Terry. While in Bakersfield they visited with relatives Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hagen.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gianelli of Galt announce the birth of a daughter, Clara Marie, at Mason Hospital on Aug. 21. She weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and arrived at 4:25 a.m. … Donna Lee, newborn daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Rott of Galt, arrived at Buchanan Hospital on Aug. 24. She weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and arrived at 9:45 p.m. … Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Schmidt of Thornton announce the birth of a son, Ted, born Aug. 24 at Buchanan Hospital. The newcomer weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces, and arrived at 1:25 a.m.

Dr. Gerald M. Oehler will be associated with Dr. V.E. Greer, Jr. in the practice of medicine in Dr. Greer’s clinic at 5th and B streets, it was announced yesterday by Dr. Greer.

Galt Girl Scout Cadette Troop No. 685 went on a bicycle hike Monday, Aug. 23 to the Hobday ranch on Arno Road with troop members planning the hike and barbecue they enjoyed afterward. Members attending were Donna Stemler, Michele Lane, Kim and Kandy Harland, Sherry Gilbert, Susan Miller, Terri Berreth and a large number of invited guests.

In a presentation to City Council, City manager Joe Tanner remarked that the new sewer plant construction project will take the “lion’s share” of the $5.4 million budget. The sewer treatment plant will cost $3.3 million.
It’s goodbye “Galt Elementary”, hello to “Galt Middle School”! The familiar school, located at 1011 C Street, will change its name, and its curriculum, when school opens on Sept. 8.
