Wiley is an approximately 8-month-old male Border Collie mix who weighs approximately 42 pounds. This young and energetic puppy is looking for a fun and active family to call his own. Wiley was pretty independent when he first came into the shelter, but he has started getting used to being around and interacting with people more and more each day. He definitely loves to take in the sights, sounds and, especially, smells when he gets to go out into the play yard, but he eventually looks for human interaction and can be pretty affectionate when the mood strikes. Wiley might not have had a lot of human interaction growing up, but he’s made so much progress that we have a feeling that, once he finds his human(s) and settles in, he’ll form a pretty strong bond with them. Wiley has your typical puppy energy, and he loves to run and chase after toys in the yard, but most of the time, once you throw a toy for him, he’ll chase it down and then entertain himself by running around the yard with it. Though he’s got some catching up to do, we see so much potential in this loveable guy and know he will make an awesome companion for a lucky family. Wiley is learning his basic obedience commands, but continued obedience training will help him bond with his new owner and help him reach his full potential as a model K-9 citizen. If you’re interested in giving this handsome guy the forever home that he deserves, please come in and ask to meet Wiley.
