Galt Senior Club honors past president

The Galt Senior Club will host a special meeting to honor past president Pat McCormick who recently passed away. The meeting will be held at the Chabolla Community Center on Monday, Jan. 27 from 1-3 p.m.

Wine, Beer & Food event Jan. 31

Galt District Chamber of Commerce is hosting the third annual Wine, Beer & Food event in conjunction with the Winter Bird Festival Friday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m., at the Littleton Community Center, 410 Civic Drive. This adult-only event will feature wine, beer and food tasting with music. Tickets are only $20 before Jan. 28, or $35 at the door. This year, VIP tables for eight will be sold, which include taste flights of beer, wine and dessert, commemorative wine and beer glasses, company logo on the table and a personal table runner. Winter Bird Festival Feb. 1

The 13th annual Winter Bird Festival will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Chabolla Community Center, 610 Chabolla Avenue in Galt.

Admission is free and features children’s activities all day, arts and crafts vendors, tours to various local preserves, specialty tours, a wild animal presentation, and guest speakers. Space is limited, so sign up for tours at www.ci.galt.ca.us/WBF for more information or call 209-366-7180.

Lady of Fatima Crab Feed

Our Lady of Fatima Society of Thornton will hold its Crab Feed on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Stockton Ballroom, 9650 Thornton Road in Stockton.

First seating for no-host cocktails will be 3:30-4:30 p.m., with dinner at 4:30 p.m. Second seating for cocktails is 6:30-7:30 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 p.m. A dance starts at 9 p.m., with The Jay Rolerz Band. Tickets are $55, and no outside alcohol or beverages are allowed.

Valentine See’s Candy sales at library Feb. 4-14

Galt Friends of the Library will be selling a Valentine assortment of See’s Candy at the Marian O. Lawrence Library, between 12 and 5 p.m. only, during regular library hours, starting Tuesday, Feb. 4 and ending on Friday, Feb. 14, as long as supplies last. Proceeds will help support special library programs throughout the year.

tinySmiles races & health expo Feb. 8

The annual “tiny” Half kids fun run, 5k, 10k and half-marathon will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Littleton Community Center on Civic Drive. The half marathon starts at 8 a.m., with the 5k/10k at 8:15 a.m., the kids’ fun run at 9 a.m., plus a health expo from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Come Play Bingo

Galt United Methodist Church, which supports the Sunshine Food Pantry, will host Bingo on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m., at 571 C Street. Players must be 18 years or older. The first 10-game buy-in is $10; additional paper buy-in is $5, and special games are $1 each. Winners will receive a gift basket. The fundraiser will benefit a special church project.
