Sesquicentennial banner success

Thanks to the hard work of Vice Mayor Shawn Farmer, Loren Thompson of Spaans Cookies, the Galt District Chamber of Commerce, the Galt Sesquicentennial Committee, Express Type and Graphics and a team from Galt Public Works, the Galt Sesquicentennial banner proudly hangs over C Street. Reminiscent of years past when banners were utilized to instill community pride and communication, the Sesquicentennial Committee, along with the chamber, decided to bring back the age-old tradition. Be sure to take a drive down to old town to see the banner. Better yet, park your car and stroll down the street and see what’s new in old town. The committee has dozens of activities planned for the Sept. 14 event, from antique cars on display, multiple music acts, entertainers, period games, children’s activities, a play depicting the history of Galt, food and much, much more. Be sure to save the date for Sept. 14.
