If you enjoy good wine, scrumptious food and also have a taste for history, you won’t want to miss the 9th annual Sip & Snack at the Mac. Area wineries, breweries and restaurants will be serving their finest on Saturday, July 27, beginning at 6 p.m. Galt Area Historical Society President Janis Barsetti Gray said the event not only is enjoyable but supports the history of Galt.
“All proceeds are used for the continued restoration and preservation of the McFarland Living History Ranch,” said Barsetti Gray. “It is a wonderful community event, with lots of tastes from local restaurants, wineries and breweries. There is live music and a dance floor, tours of the magnificent McFarland House, and a hayride around some of the ranch. This event gets bigger every year.”
You can twirl around the dance floor with the live music from Phil & da Pinots from 7 until 10 p.m. Food will be served until 9 p.m. The beautiful, serene venue is located at 8899 Orr Road, which is Elm Street in town.
“Most who participate come every year since the beginning,” said Barsetti Gray. “We have eight new businesses that have joined us this year. That means this year we’ll have 29 participants from wineries, breweries or restaurants.”
The event also features a huge number of raffle baskets to please almost anyone’s taste. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door, available at Barsetti Vinyard’s Tasting Room at 400 Fourth Street in Old Town Galt, or you can pay with PayPal at www.galthistory.org or by calling (209) 745-0951.
