The Galt Beautification Committee and volunteers gather Saturday, Oct. 12 at Lincoln Way and A Street to pick up litter. Attending are Julie Gomez and son Isaac, Ben and Gideon Wilhelm, Francine Reid and Marissa Reid, Terry Esparza, Gale Webber, Darlene Brown, Tiffany Manning and Barbara Payne.

The Galt Beautification Committee and volunteers gathered Saturday, Oct. 12 at Lincoln Way and A Street to pick up litter and “love Earth, our home”.  We would not trash up our home the way we do our streets.

A Street is one of the gateways to our town, and we want to keep it looking good. An amazing amount of cigarette butts in front of Family Dollar was collected, along with other litter.

The group picked up litter from the freeway to Fourth Street on A Street. Galt Police came out to pick up a bag of marijuana that one of our adult volunteers found.

Cal-Waste is always willing to provide a dumpster for us to deposit all the trash and litter that we pick up.

The beautification committee periodically cleans up a street or a park. For information, contact the Community Development Department at 209-366-7230 or check the city of Galt Facebook page. The Galt Beautification Committee along with the Public Works Department also sponsors the Adopt A Street program.
