Members of the Galt Beautification Committee award employees at BMD on Elk Street with recognition for keeping Galt clean and beautiful.

Elm Street is not the most beautiful street in Galt, but BMD does its part to make it a pleasant drive to the homes west of the BMD facility and to downtown. BMD is an employee-owned business and, therefore, has special pride in the appearance of the company. It is also one of the oldest businesses in Galt with a history of giving back to the community. According to Reg Smith, director of property management, it is planning to make the current landscaping more water saving. The manicured lawn and trees are pretty but require a lot of water. The more drought tolerant planting along the building might be more appropriate. Beautification committee members Barbara Payne, Darlene Brown, Gale Webber and Amy Sandhu were given a tour of the landscaping along the building and along Elm Street. The committee encourages businesses in the city to demonstrate their pride in our town by keeping their fronts clean and beautiful.
