The Galt Marian O. Lawrence Library will close on Jan. 6 for a “refresh.” It will re-open in early spring 2019.

The refresh will include new flooring, new furniture and new light fixtures will be installed throughout the library.

It will also receive a $50,000 enhancement fund for adding books to its collection.

Katie Grindrod, library assistant, said the whole staff is excited about the refresh.

“We’re looking forward to the new look,” Grindrod said. “Things will be moved around to work better and give it a new modern look. The kids’ section will be redone with new furniture and play items. Everything will get a fresh coat of paint.”

If you have books to return after Jan. 6, you may drop them off at any of the Sacramento County libraries, including the one in Elk Grove.
