Galt police last week arrested five people who it said had fired paintball guns at pedestrians around the city.

On June 8, at around 6:58 p.m., Galt Police Department received multiple reports of the occupants of a car firing paintball guns at people walking at various places in Galt. According to the agency’s daily incident bulletin, shots were reported at Elm Avenue and Industrial Drive, on E Street, and at Cepeda Way and Marengo Road.

Three people were shot with the paintball guns. One victim, an older man, transported himself to the hospital for medical treatment.

Officers found the suspect vehicle on Walnut Avenue and Elk Hills Drive, the department said in a release.

“A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and five occupants were located inside,” the release read, continuing that officers found evidence related to the crimes in the vehicle.

Officers arrested all of the occupants, two adult men and three minors, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse and conspiracy. The men — identified as Frank Plascencia and Yair Contreras, both 18-year-olds from Lodi — were transported to Sacramento County Jail. The three minors were transported to Sacramento County Juvenile Hall.
