Galt police officials are seeking the public’s help with information regarding a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, Feb. 29 near Quik Stop on the corner of F and Fourth streets.
Police responded to several 911 calls just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday to reports of gunshots in the area.
According to Lieutenant Brian Kalinowski, evidence was located and collected near the area of F Street and the railroad tracks indicating the location of the shooting.
After notifying area hospitals, Galt police were contacted by Lodi Memorial Hospital about a subject who checked himself into the hospital for a gunshot wound.
When Galt police arrived, the victim was uncooperative and was released after being treated for his injuries.
Police have located the vehicle involved in the incident and are continuing the investigation.
