Two people were shot near B and Seventh streets on Nov. 19 in what the Galt Police Department is calling an “isolated incident.”

On Friday at about 4:45 p.m., multiple reports of a shooting in the vicinity of B and Seventh streets led officers to visit the area, where they found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. In a Facebook post that day, the department said the boy had been sent to be treated at a local hospital.

Continuing to search the scene, officers found a 28-year-old man who had also been shot, and he too was sent to a hospital.

The two were reportedly in stable condition over the weekend and set to be released from the hospital soon.

“Our Investigations Unit is working diligently to identify the suspect(s) responsible, who remain outstanding at this time. We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no imminent threat to the public,” the department said Saturday in an update to its post.

Galt PD asked those with information about the shooting to call (209) 366-7000.
