‘Cendy’ F. Ferrer-Nordbye

Cynthia ‘Cendy’ Faye Ferrer-Nordbye, 64, went to be with the Lord at her home in San Bruno on Sept. 1, 2020. She passed away from health complications and was surrounded by her immediate family. Cendy was born on March 15, 1956 in Pittsburg, Calif., and raised in Galt.

Cendy attended Galt High, but graduated from Pittsburg High, class of 1974. She met the love of her life in third grade at Galt Elementary in 1966 and fell in love the summer of 1977 in Lodi, and got married on Valentine’s Day 1984. She worked for the Elk Grove Unified School District (Joseph Kerr and Florin High) and later moved to Oregon, expanding her career working for the county health department and human services. Cendy retired and moved back to California to be closer to family.

Cendy loved all bay area sports teams and was a very dedicated fan of the SF Giants and Oakland A’s. She wore many hats and was very creative. She loved taking pictures and spending time with her family.

Cendy is survived by her loving husband, Dale Nordbye; daughters Theresa Ferrer-Contreras, Nachita (Ferrer) Barron, Jessica Nordbye and stepdaughter Stephanie (Nordbye) Flores; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters; in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Preceding Cendy in death were her mother, Theresa Lopez Ferrer-Lerma; father, Sylvester Ferrer; stepfather, Nash Ponce Lerma; and her only son, Dale Jr.
