Charles ‘Pete’ Girard

Charles Audis (Pete) Girard passed away Jan. 16 at the age of 78. He was born and raised in Galt.

After graduating from Galt High School, Pete served in the U.S. Navy, and was stationed on the USS Hancock during the Vietnam War. In 1967, he married Kathy Rona, and they moved to Lodi in 1970. Pete was employed with the federal government until he retired at the age of 50.

Pete and Kathy have three daughters, Kim, Kelly and Krisey, who all reside in Lodi. Pete was an avid tennis player and a member of Sunwest/Twin Arbors Tennis Club for over 40 years. He also enjoyed fishing, the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He also loved to attend all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

Pete leaves behind Kathy, his wife of 52 years; daughters Kim (Kenny) Norris, Kelly Osborn (John Mettler), Krisey (Matt) Luiz. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Preceding Pete in death were his father Jerry Girard, mother Irene Girard, and brothers JB and Porky Girard.

There will be a private family burial. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
