Darlene Jean Koehn -- loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, and a friend to many - peacefully entered heaven at the age of 84 in her home with family by her side on October 30th, 2021.
Darlene Mueller was born on May 17, 1937 to Lydia and Evoldt Mueller in Gackle, North Dakota. She moved to San Joaquin County as a young teenager and attended both Galt and Lodi High Schools.
Darlene married Lindell Koehn and enjoyed 43 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1999. In 1966, Darlene and Lindell built a house in Acampo, CA. Special memories fill our hearts with many visits and holidays spent in her loving home. Darlene worked as a food processor at Tri Valley Growers for 36 years. Darlene was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church, now Grace Point Church, since 1954. She loved to volunteer at many functions. Some key roles were as a member of the women's missionary fellowship and the white cross project which was the regular collection of medical supplies sent to Cameroon and Nigeria. Her church family knew her as exceptionally positive and very faithful. On occasions she would attend New Hope Church in Galt, CA. It was closer to her house, and she loved this little church and her church family.
Darlene never knew a stranger. She was always ready to share an encouraging word and tell people about Jesus. She had a generous heart and the sweetest and kindest spirit of anybody we know. She was a gift from God and we will truly miss her.
Darlene is survived by her son Jeff (Laura) Koehn of West Sacramento, two grandchildren Ashley (Steve) Belotti and Jeffrey (Madisen) Koehn, four great-grandchildren Liam, Caleb, Grayson (born 3 days after her passing), and Brylee; son Greg (Tiffany) Koehn of Lower Lake, three granddaughters Makenna, Shelby, Kayma; son Brad (Dustin) Koehn of Florence, Oregon; and brother Ken (Liz) Mueller.
She is preceded in death by parents Evoldt and Lydia Mueller, brothers Darrell and Ronnie Mueller, and sister Candy Owen.
Celebration of Life service will be at Grace Point Church (formerly Temple Baptist Church) in Lodi, CA on November 18th at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make a donation to a charity of your choice that you feel Darlene would have enjoyed or please do an act of kindness for someone in need.
