Debera Jean Anthes, 63, passed on Nov. 12th, 2019. She was born in Jamestown, N.D., and had two older brothers, Kenny and Leroy. Shortly after she was born, the family moved to Victor, Calif., to settle and build a house, where she has raised her family and resided until her passing.
Debera attended Victor Elementry School, Houston Middle School and Lodi High School, where she graduated in 1974. After that, she earned her A.A. degree in accounting from San Joaquin Delta College and worked with Beckman & Co. from 1977 to 1980.
Debera was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She cherished volunteering in the church and praising the Lord. She always enjoyed helping others; she had a generous heart and kind spirit. She met the love of her life, Steve, in 1977, and after a short courtship, they married in the Oakland Temple in 1979. This past year, they celebrated 40 blissful years of marriage.
In 1980, Debera had the first of four childern. She loved spending time with the family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her beautiful face. She was especially proud of her precious grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel Suko. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve, who is employed by Sacramento Couty and has worked in Galt for 18 years; four children, Steve (Patricia) curretnly stationed in Germany, Jeanay (Addison) of Galt, William of Victor and Daniel of Lodi; and two grandchildren, Steven and Angel.
Debera was a bright light in their lives and will be sorely missed. She will live on forever in their hearts and minds, and through many treasured memories.
The family will be holding a private graveside service on Monday, Nov. 25, presided by Bishop Eric Holden from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
