James Richard Swank, 55, of Bakersfield, CA. passed peacefully away on 4/14/23. James was born on 10/25/1967 to Donald and Marlene Swank. James grew up in Wilton, CA. and graduated from Galt High School.
James was a welder beginning his career in 1990 and worked for KSI, and most recently PG&E as a Welder Qualification Specialist. In 2004 James met and married his wife Lisa, and they enjoyed 18 wonderful years together. James enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and his once-a-year trip above Bishop for fishing. James had recently found pleasure in hunting estate sales for unique antiques. James was a true friend to everyone he knew and will be deeply missed.
James is survived by his wife Lisa Swank, 3 children Tyler Swank (Haleigh), Nicholas Barker (Macalla), Gregory Barker, his stepmom who raised him Trisha Swank, grandchildren Caroline and Alice Swank, and siblings Randy Fulmer (Pam), Donna Jenkins (Chad), Chris Swank (Laura), Donald Swank and Kathy Fulmer. James was predeceased by Donald Swank Sr, Marlene Swank, and sister Deanna Swank-Garcia.
Services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home 2739 Panama Ln. on 4/28/23 at 10:30AM. As James was a simple man, we request all wear jeans in his honor.
