John V. Andrews was born on Valentine’s Day in 1928 in McKeesport, Pa. He passed away on Dec. 20, 2021 in Burlingame, Calif. John was educated in Port Vue, Pa. schools, Valley Forge Military Academy and at the University of Pittsburgh. John also served in the Marines during World War II, and he was discharged from the Army in 1957.

John worked on the first USA “Rascal” missile and the Atlas moon shot rocket. He became involved in the light rail systems as supervising engineer for BART in the San Francisco Bay area. Later, he was a self-employed consultant for other rail systems, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Paris and Caracas, Venezuela.

John’s loving and devoted wife, Margaret, passed away in 2008. Both John and Margaret enjoyed their time residing in and playing golf at Rancho Murieta Country Club. They were married for 56 years.

John’s surviving relatives include his son, Alan Andrews and wife Mei; and children, Arthur and Keith; also, daughter Cheryl Gant and husband Jim. John was the devoted son of Mary Zeno.
